Tips to improve Hemoglobin (HB)



1. Beetroot, palak or spinach, rajma or kidney beans, cabbage, sweet potato and cauliflower are vegetables that are easily available in the Indian market. Beetroot is the best natural remedy to boost blood count, it has the ability to regenerate iron content and activates red blood cells.


2. Grains like barley (jav), rice (chawal), semolina (sooji), millet (bajra) and maize (makai) can also be included. You can use combination of any of these sources to cook delicious iron rich recipes.


3. Pomegranates are delicious and healthy fruit. From kids to adults everyone enjoys them very much. This fruit is gives natural source of Vitamin A, C, E, folic acid and iron. By taking this delicious fruit in any form will increase the supply of iron in blood and helps in reducing the symptoms of low hemoglobin (HB) level in the blood.


4. Red meat is an excellent source of iron. The highest concentration of iron, vitamin B12, and folate can be found in the liver. Other good sources are liver from beef, turkey and chicken.


5. Tomatoes are also rich in various antioxidants especially lycopene which promotes radiant, beautiful skin and healthy organs. Due to eating tomato, increase blood cells.


6. Raisins, dried figs, apples, grapes and watermelons not only get the red blood cells flowing but also improve the blood count. Citrus fruits like oranges, Aamla, lime and grapefruit help to attract iron. They play a very important role to increasing blood count. 


7. A plain beetroot juice for 20 days can tremendously improve the hemoglobin level. You can enjoy a mixed salad of fresh vegetables which includes carrot, cucumber and onion along with grated beetroot.


8. Legumes are necessary to include foods that are rich in iron. Soybeans, kidney beans and chickpeas are the recommended legumes. Soybeans contain iron, folate, vitamin C and no vitamin B12.

 
9. Fresh apricots may be thirst quenching in summer, but dried apricots are a cost-effective way of eating this iron-rich fruit all year round. They are rich in fiber which means that their sugar is released gradually into the blood and helps maintain a steady blood sugar level.


10. Nuts have some amount of iron in them. The king of all nuts with the highest iron content is the almond. One of almonds every day provides 6% of iron. Dry fruits and nuts can be purchased from anywhere. Almonds are the cheapest of all the other nuts and dry fruits available to us.
